Oral Cancer Screening
At Denson Downtown Dental, our number one priority is for you to live a long and healthy life. Even if oral cancer or pathology isn’t a current concern, we perform an oral cancer screening annually on each patient during their dental exam. If there is an area of concern, we can perform a biopsy procedure to provide the proper diagnosis and help you find the best treatment.
Oral Pathology
Dr. Denson receives consultations for oral pathology screening, including biopsy. This may include changes from the normal appearance of your teeth, gums, mucosa, tongue, lips, or face. These changes may include, but are not limited to the following changes:
- Red patches or masses
- White patches or masses
- Lumps
- Ulcerations or non-healing sores
- Erosions
- Abnormal oral bleeding
- Chronic sore throat or hoarseness
- Difficulty in chewing or swallowing
Oral pathologies located in deep tissues (such as within bone) may also require X-ray for detection. If you have concerns about your oral health, please seek the care of your general dentist, medical provider or please call our office for a consultation appointment.
